EDTA Tube
Golden Vac™ EDTA Tubes contain EDTA as an anticoagulant and are widely used for determinations in EDTA whole blood clinical hematology tests, especially for routine blood examinations.
These tubes contain EDTA, which inhibits the coagulation process by eliminating calcium in the blood. They are available in K2 – EDTA or K3 – EDTA, with K3 – EDTA providing a stronger anticoagulant effect, resulting in greater RBC shrinkage and a larger increase in cell volume upon standing. The tubes are ultrasonically and finely coated to ensure accurate additives. After filling with blood, the tube should be inverted 8-10 times for adequate mixing and anticoagulation. Centrifugation is recommended at 1100 g for 10 minutes at 18-25° C (only for EDTA tubes with separator gel). All tubes are supplied in bulk cartons of 1000 or 1200 tubes per box.
